A PhD student complained to their provider that they were being bullied by their supervisor and that the situation was impacting their mental health.

An international PhD student made an application to extend their period of studies. This was their fourth extension request.

The student was in the second year of an undergraduate programme at the time of the industrial action. The student complained to the University that it had broken its promise to provide them with contact hours and a continuous, reliable system for learning, and that their learning and grades were affected.

The student was on a one-year MA programme at the time of the industrial action. They complained to the University that they had paid for contact hours that were not delivered and that their examination results had suffered as a result.

The student was on a part-time MA programme at the time of the industrial action. They complained to the University that they had lost earnings because they had come to the University for lectures and seminars that were cancelled; that the University delayed in handling their complaint; and that the University did not explain how it would remedy the missed classes.

The student was on the first year of a BA programme at the time of the industrial action. They complained to the University that they had paid for seminars and lectures that had not been provided.

The student was on a part-time MSc programme at the time of the industrial action. They complained to the University that it had cancelled 50% of the teaching time for one unit.

The student was on a one-year MA programme at the time of the industrial action. They complained to the University about the impact of the industrial action on their studies and asked for a refund of fees.

A student enrolled on an International Graduate Medicine (MBBS) programme that included some placements in the USA. In their second year the student complained about information provided in the prospectus about the placements and asked to do their placement in the UK rather than the USA.

A student was studying for an HND at a further education college. The student, with some other students, raised concerns about the delivery of the course and complained that they had not received good value for money.

We publish summaries of some of the complaints that we review. We always leave out of the summary any information that might identify the student who made the complaint. In some cases we decide that it is in the public interest to publish a summary of a complaint that includes the name of the provider.
