Casework discussion group: Requests for additional consideration
Discussion group for colleagues at providers and student representative bodies.
Requests for Additional Consideration (RFAC) are often referred to as “mitigating”, “extenuating” or “special circumstances” procedures, or “factors affecting performance”. This discussion group will build upon our level 1 webinar on RFAC that took place in January and explore some case scenarios in detail.
Colleagues who join us should have a good working knowledge of our Good Practice Framework – Requests for Additional Consideration and be confident when discussing some related case studies.
If you have recent experience in responding to or supporting students through RFAC processes at your provider, then these discussion groups are for you.
In order to make the discussions as beneficial as possible to attendees, we ‘re asking you to share your topics and themes for discussion within the theme of Requests for Additional Consideration. We will not be discussing live cases but if you have a scenario that would be helpful to talk through with colleagues in the sector then do let us know when you sign up for the discussion group.
Each online discussion will last up to 90 minutes giving us time to explore the issues raised through the case scenarios. Discussions will have limited numbers to enable maximum participation from all attendees.
This is a free casework discussion group. It is suitable for:
- Casework staff at providers who have an interest in matters relating to Requests for additional consideration;
- Individuals who support students using Requests for additional consideration processes.
