Disciplinary matters (non-academic) - CS102304

Two groups of students were disciplined after a party at their accommodation caused damage to the property. Two group decisions were made which were based on different sets of evidence.

A student complained to us after they were charged for the damage and banned from having guests in their accommodation. The student said that they had not had an opportunity to speak to the panel, and said that they had been prevented from making an appeal against the decision.

When we put the complaint to the provider, it decided to overturn the disciplinary decision and cancel the charge applied because of the procedural irregularities identified. The student accepted this offer and the complaint was Settled on that basis.
