Students at Brit College have been told that their higher education courses will be no longer be designated by the Department for Education from 4 June 2025.
This means existing students will need to transfer to a different provider to continue to access student finance. The de-designation of courses at Brit College does not affect the maintenance payments that have been made recently to eligible students.
We understand that this is a very difficult and upsetting situation for students and staff. Students will be receiving information from the relevant awarding organisation about their options. This will include details about who they can contact for additional information.
We have published some additional information for students in the FAQs.
We have been advised that Hudson Weir Ltd have been appointed as voluntary liquidators. In May 2026 we contacted some students who had complained to us asking for permission to share their details with the liquidators.
As Brit College has gone into liquidation you may wish to lodge a claim with the liquidators if you feel you should be an unsecured creditor but have not made a complaint to us. The liquidators details are Hudson Weir Ltd and you should contact them for more information.
